Viruddh is a story of a person who accidentally witnesses a criminal act and loses his life in his attempt to intervene.
Viruddh is a story of standing up against a well-established paradigm of power in defence of his/her convictions. It is about dissent, refusal of fear and of extraordinary courage and tenacity under extreme pressure and adversity. Viruddh is also about an extraordinary sixty plus couple who are forced to search for their faith in human values and society after the death of their only son. In this process they undergo the most testing struggle of their lives. The ingredients of Viruddh and its theme are universally identifiable. Set in the networked and global milieu, it tells a tale that has classical elements and structure and can be relocated in almost any context. The film expresses individual and social vulnerability in the face on a corrupt system and how this equation continues to be the same even as the ways of the society change. |

| “Viruddh” is the story of a person (John Abraham) who accidentally witnesses a criminal act and loses his life in his attempt to intervene.The film expresses individual and social vulnerability in the face of a corrupt system and how this equation continues to be the same even as the ways of the society change. Amitabh, Sharmila Tagore, John had given their best. In short movie is good and worth to watch at least onetime. |

Despite so many Viruddhs (that could make it a perfect movie) Amitabh Bachchan dominates the
show yet again.
With a slow start and obvious ending this song-less drama, stands its ground and delivers a family saga worth watching. John did a good job same does Sharmila, who displays a better fit with Amitabh.
I would still say this movie is worth seeing, especially for Bachchan's performance. |

| After watching this movie, i can safely say that Bollywood is maturing very nicely. This is a well done and not copied from Hollywood plots movie. Not a single song or dance. The flow was smooth and entertaining dialogue. Amitabh the great showed his humble side. Very nice to see Sharmila Tagore back on the screen. Wonderful movie to see. |
