"Sehar" is a small-big film about unlikely heroes. The police force, often shown to be brutal and self-serving, gets a commendable pat on the back from first-time director Kabeer Kaushik in this biographical account of principled policeman Ajay Kumar (Arshad Warsi) fighting "absolute power" emanating from extra-constitutional guns in Uttar Pradesh. |

Poice v/s mafia-politician nexus film !!! |

Seher talks of ever-changing dynamics of Uttar Pradesh's politics: Railway contracts, ISI involvement, mafia-politician nexus versus police, and criminalization of University students. The film adopts an interesting narrative style by Pankaj Kapoor.
Arshad Warsi, a fearless & honest police officer, holds the grip of the audience. This time he gets into the skin of the character and proves his versatility as an actor. Mahima Choudhary looks too old in the role of leading actress. She was not offered much other than be the love interest of Arsad Warsi. Suhasini Mulay was a mere prop meant to complete Arshad Warsi's identity. Sushant Singh does his part effectively. Pankaj Kapoor, who plays an expert in cell phone technology, is noteworthy.
Overall, Seher is a good film and cannot be missed. |
