'D' is the story of Deshu's stupendous rise to power in the underbelly of Mumbai and how he engulfed, monopolised and corporatized the entire Mumbai underworld to form what came to be known as the 'D' company.
From the makers of Satya and company 'D' goes into the stark reality of a neither world that exist within below and may be even above ours. |

Another good movie for Ramu |

Movies produced by Ramgopal Varma's film-factory are as diverse as chalk and cheese when compared to the other qualitative production houses. A brilliant effort, this is a must-watch film that has the potential to grow with a strong word of mouth in days to come. |

It may be adharmic, or a guilty vice, but I love gangsta' flicks, whether set in Bharat or the U.S. Although derivative, especially in the Godfather 2 massacre, Bombay-style, mid-climax, but enjoyable. Especially the soundtrack. Would love to see a sequel. |

Another Must Watch Company! |

The movie story line is similar to that of Varma’s other two underworld offerings - Satya and Company. The movie depicts unwashed men washing their conscience in the blood of the slain with slurring speech and smoking guns.
Randeep Hooda as "D" [Deshu] carries the movie on his shoulders with his power packed performance and rugged looks, deep voice, his silence and outstanding facial expressions. He is a young man who comes back from Dubai to Mumbai, where he witness the killing of a fellow chawl resident at the hands of a few mafia men. He decides to play the deadly games of the underworld with effortless ease and eventually rises to higher ranks and eventually attaining the highest rank. His dialogue delivery is flawless and one never gets the slightest inkling that he is only doing his second movie after "Mansoon Wedding".
Goga Kapoor as Haashim being the head of one of the gangs has handled his role quite well. Chunkey Pandey being the right hand of "D" makes an impressive comeback. Isha Koppikar away from the storyline is a complete waste. Sushant Singh and Yashpal Sharma have done the jobs as usual.
"D" is a must watch for the lovers of good cinema. The movie keeps you glued to your seats right from the beginning till the very end. |
