A pimp from a redlight area marries a religious girl from a village. He then sells her to a brothel, making her believe that the brothel is her in-law's house. But he is not able to hide the truth from her for too long. Since she is from a cultured and religious family, she considers the pimp to be her lawful wedded husband and and stays with him.
In spite of many threats and ill-treatment meted out to her at the brothel, she refuses to comply with the wishes of the brothel owner. When the pimp tells her that their marriage was a fraud, she takes a firm stand saying that the various rites that were performed, the sacred fire, the vedic mantras and the kanyadan performed by her father were true and bound them together for life!.
Her dignity despite the ordeal that she is forced to endure in the brothel and her utter faith in her marraige and her loyalty to the pimp, her husband, stirs something deep in the pimp and the people in the brothel.......... |
