North East India - A feeling of neglect and alienation has crept into the minds of people and this has given rise to militancy in this region. The militant organizations have become so powerful that they run a parallel government in the rural areas. The Government unable to curb their activities calls in the Central Forces.
Abhimanyu Singh, a no non-sense D.I.G in CRPF is chosen to lead the operation. From day one he hits them hard, cutting down their supply routes and eliminating their informers. But unfortunately one day during a crack operation he falls into their trap and they takes him into their custody. In this period he meets their local commander JP or Jayprakash. The two men had many heated arguments both ideological and personal but it resulted in both having a better understanding on each others problems. JP releases Abhimanyu - unharmed.
Abhimanyu now got a different perspective of looking at things, he realized that these educated youths who have taken the path of violence could have been stopped had the government taken steps to resolve their basic problems of unemployment, lack of development and corruption which has eroded every social institution. Abhimanyu urges the government to initiate a peace dialogue to bring about a concrete and permanent solution to this problem. He personally tries to build bridges between the government and the militants, but the stakes are very high and no one is ready to budge from their already held positions. Abhimanyu has now entered a 'Chackraview' and he doesn't know the way out. |
