  Jeetendra Born Apr 07

Jeetendra alias Ravi Kapoor, best remembered for his energetic dancing style, was doing his B Sc in Mumbai and helping with his family's business when V Shantaram gave him his first break in Navrang and Sehra. He formed a long-lasting friendship with Shantaram's daughter Rajshree and starred opposite her in Geet Gaya Pattharon Ne in 1964. Farz in 1967 was the film that brought him into the limelight.
Jeetendra was one of the first stars from Hindi cinema to work extensively in films made in the South. When Rajesh Khanna became the reigning superstar in Bombay, Jeetendra opted to go down to Madras and Hyderabad and work in films there. Sridevi and Jayapradha were his favorite co-stars and they came up with hit after hit like Tohfa, Himmatwala, Mawaali.

Yet he also did meaningful films like Khushboo, Parichay and Kinara. A shrewd businessman, he believed in investing his money wisely.

Married to Shoba, who hails from the famous Sippy family, today, Jeetendra, who still retains those youthful good looks, watches proudly as daughter Ektaa produces top-rated teleserials and his son Tusshar follows in his own foot steps.
