His face to reckon with! John Abraham hogged all attention as a pin up model when he did the Provogue ad. Girls lusted for him. Guys envied him. But John Abraham had arrived. Like all model, John too aspired to become an actor. Director Rahul Rawail agreed to launch him in films. A grand mahurat was held. The unit took off to London for the first schedule of the film. Meanwhile John bagged other offers too. Producer Pooja Bhatt signed him to play the lead for her film. Jism would have Bipasha Basu as his heroine. The film was to be made on a tight budget and was to be completed on time. Thankfully Rawail did not bind John by a rigid contract.
John began shooting for Jism in full swing. The film held his preference because it also featured girlfriend Bipasha Basu. The script of Jism demanded some hot scenes from Bipasha and John that they willingly agreed to do. It is only when the media questioned Bipasha about the comfort level in doing those scenes because it involved John, she admitted, ?Yes it got a lot easier because of John?s presence. I was aware that the film had explicit scenes. I was prepared for it and would have done them even if it involved somebody else,? she said. Jism of course stood to be the first hit of 2003. John as the ditched lover well down with audience instantly. Bipasha was declared star. And John a potential debutant who was even given the best debutant award at a recent award function held in South Africa.
John has signed has bagged several films today including Vikram Bhatt?s Aitbaar that has him with Amitabh Bachchan and Bipasha Basu and Mukesh Bhatt?s Saaya with Tara Sharma that has John play a doctor in the film.
As for his personal life it is Bipasha, Bipasha and Bipasha. There are rumours that the duo has got engaged. In between there were stories about their marriage. While some maintained that Bips and John had called it quits because John wanted to desperately get married to her while she wanted to focus on her career. John reportedly began to date Tara Sharma then. John only scoffed at the rumours and the imaginative fables. ?I don?t know where all this started from! See, I don?t like to talk about my personal life. I?d rather talk about my work.? But the rumours continue to abound?
