Post L.O.C., LAKSHYA, DEEWAAR and AB TUMHARE HAWALE WATAN SATHIYO, Indo-Pak themes, especially those that abound in jingoism and indulge in Pak-bashing, are shunned by moviegoers in India and the Asian community abroad.
But 1971 is different…
A band of six Indian prisoners of war have to make the most daring escape from a Pakistani camp to the Indian border at all costs. What ensues is a gut-wrenching chase, across the unyielding terrain, where these men brave inhuman weather conditions and the constant threat of the Pakistani officials on the hunt for the stray Paw’s
All they have to rely in this dangerous mission are each other, their undying sprit and their love for their homeland. But will these be enough to see them through. |

Good... If You Like War Films |

This is loosely based on The Great Escape and is a good production with good acting. It doesn't have too much to do with the war of 1971; it's more an action film than a war movie, which is good because I don't like war films too much. However, if you do like them, this will be a good one for you because it doesn't simply warp the Indo-Pak situation into us v. them and good v. evil, but is a more realistic portrayal of a part of war: POW's trying to escape. |

It is a well-made film with excellent performances especially Manoj’s that works because it is natural to the core. It is a must-see film for those who want to see purposeful film. The film is well written, smartly executed, and excellently performed. The cinematography and the background score add immense value. |
