Black Friday is a film about the investigations following the 1993 serial Bombay bomb blasts, told through the different stories of the people involved --police, conspirators, victims, middlemen.
The movie, based on journalist S. Hussain Zaidi’s book, is not a documentary. But it compellingly documents the build-up to the blast and the ensuing investigation by the police. It goes into the lives of key players like Tiger Memon (played by Pawan Malhotra ), his henchman Badshah Khan (Aditya Srivastava) and ACP Rakesh Maria ( Kay Kay Menon ), who investigated the case. |

A knock-out of a docudrama! With no real big cinema stars in the cast, just journey-man actors, this movie kept me on the edge of my seat as it recounts the stark brutality and no prisoners taken approach of both sides during the deadly time in Mumbai. Stark, blunt and incisive. |

Black Friday is truly an insightful and touching film. The script and screenplay by Anurag Kashyap is awe-inspiring and in a true sense depicts real life cinema. It is a powerful film that bravely attempts to tell the truth like it is.
Performances by each and every actor even in small roles have contributed to making the film even more realistic. Kay Kay Menon as Inspector, Pawan Malhotra as Tiger Memon is completely natural and gives a good performance, Aditya too is sensational in his performance, However the film could have been better edited but in spite of this it is brilliant. |

This is not only a film. It's a lesson. It's a message. It's cruelly true history. It's an initiative. It's an attempt. It's a bold step, forward. It's known yet untold bare truth. And after all it's a film.A must watch movie. |
