| This is loosely based on the story of Helen Keller who overcame being deaf, mute, and blind. Rani won best actress award and she deserved it. Even without the usual musical interludes, Black stands out as a great movie. |

Black is a beautiful movie from a brilliant director. The direction, editing, cinematography, sets, background score, performances are all outstanding. The film touches you to the core and it is an experience one shouldn't miss. Credit goes to the director for taking on such a theme and making it a beautiful piece of art.
Performances are exceptional. Rani as Michelle shows a depth that has never been seen in any of her characters. It is the role of her life and she has done complete justice to it. Amitabh as her teacher once again proves that the big B still reigns. He is superb in his role. Debutant Ayesha Kapoor playing little Michelle is a revelation. Others including Dhritiman Chatterjee as Michelle's father, Nandana Sen in a small role as her jealous but kind sister, are flawless and Shernaz Patel as her agonisized mother is especially touching in her role.
Overall a must watch film. |

It is an excellent movie but not an entertainer because of the story and the movie itself. Since the movie was based on true life story of Helen Keller, one could understand nothing is impossible in life. Amazing is the way the star cast's performance could be described. Success of more movies like this will really change the way people make movies.
A MUST WATCH movie not as an entertainer but as a MOTIVATOR to work towards anything that we think is impossible. |

| Black is a awersome movie in every aspect. From screen play to performance it was a perfect movies. With a great cast in this movie grauntree the Oscar wothy for next year. If it does qualify. |
