Going by the industry buzz the film that's making waves from day one is 'CHAHAT - EK NASHA' being made under the banner of Chamunda films. To start with, the clapboard was sounded by the current heartthrob Hrithik Roshan which was a first, even for him, then the characters played by Manisha Koirala & Preeti Jhangiani is based on Madonna & Britney Spears played by them respectively that left the industry wondering whether they will get to witness the now famous liplock, then the demure Preeti known for her homely & CHHUI - MUI character broke all rules & uninhibitedly shot for hot & seducing scenes for a rain song with Aryan Vaid. Recently a sleek & stylish 12 page folder of the said film was released by the producer Umesh Chauhan & director Jai Prakash, the Executive producer Anoop Srivastav says you have to see the folder to believe it. The cast comprises of Sharad S. Kapoor, Sayaji Shinde, Snehal Dabbi & Govind Namdeo. The film would be rocking the screen all over in November 2004.

Raahat from Saaza [Relief from punishment] 2 Star JR

The movie is a love triangle between Mallika (Manisha Koirala), Rahul (Aryan Vaid) and (Preeti Jhangiani). Aryan Vaid owns a music company, where Mallika is a famous pop star and earns a huge success for his company. Rashmi is a big fan of Mallika. She is inspired by her and wants to be as successful as her.

Mallika is of the view that the moment a couple gets married, love-n-affection glides away from their lives. Though she is physically attached to Rahul, she doesn't want to tie the knot with Rahul.

The story takes a turn with the downfall of Mallika. Her albums continue to fail and she's referred to as a 'has-been'. Rahul launches a newcomer Rashmi, an aspiring singer and dancer, in his new music album. Rashmi's album proves a big hit in no time and becomes a star overnight. Rashmi, who first hangs around the music producer trying to catch his attention, then after a hilarious seduction sequence jumps into bed with him and finally after undressing, gives him a dressing down with harsh words. "I had read in a book that men are like animals. They can never be satisfied with one woman." Rahul gets attracted to her and she too loses her heart to him.

He goes to meet Mallika (his so called "best friend" now, whom he had bedded innumerable times before), gives her a tight hug and shamelessly tells her about his new love-interest. Mallika gets shocked! Can you think of a more thrilling way to bring about the intermission?

After the intermission, Mallika becomes a lady Devdas drinking pools of hard drinks all the time. Mallika's bodyguard, Sharad Kapoor loves her a lot and can't see her in this condition, so he goes to kill Aryan. Just when he was about to kill him, Mallika shows up and shoots Sharad. She then approaches to kill Rashmi, who took away her love. But as other Bollywood movies Aryan presents himself to die in lieu of Rashmi. And not to any surprise Rashmi does the same thing presenting her to die instead of Aryan. Mallika gets confused as to whom to kill and eventually ends up killing herself! A huge round of applause, as the movie at last finishes!

The director Jai Prakash seems be a backbencher from the school of drool. Half naked cavorting bodies negating all aesthetic considerations, and other twisted definitions of entertainment stare us from every nook and cranny.

On the whole, CHAAHAT - EK NASHA doesn't have much to offer.
