Ziya informs Ranbir of a well kept secret that tears his world apart. He has a son by his former lover! This son is now purportedly residing with a family in Goa and Ziya wants Ranbir to accompany her to wish their son on his birthday. So Ranbir decides to go to Goa.
Meanwhile Ziya attempts to convince Ranbir that his wife is cheating on him and succeeds in her plans to a large extent.
Is Ziya trying to destroy his marriage? Or, is she just another jilted, anguished woman crying fro sympathy? |

An Average Performance |

Dobara is about a happily married couple, Anjali (Mahima Chaudhry) and Ranbir Saigal (Jackie Shroff). Jackie has performed well except that he needs to do something about his under eye bags. Ravina has given good performance especially in the scenes which require her to look chirpy or to behave in a nutty fashion. The emotional scenes leave the audience unscathed though. Mahima is good in an underplayed role but she looks old in some scenes. It is very obvious that she is trying her best to raise her market value by attempting to exude oomph on screen with her cleavage show.
Because it is a two-heroine film, the makers have to show Raveena in one song and Mahima in the next. By the middle of the movie, you know exactly when another song will pop out!
Actoress like Seema Biswas was wasted where she is shown only two or three times. Same is true for Gulshan Grover where he was only shown once.
The music is okay but one can't say much about the cinematography. Overall the film is strictly okay but not as bad as one expected. It has some good moments between Jackie and Raveena, and Jackie and Mahima, but its fate at the box office doesn't seem very rosy. |
