Episodes 91 to 94
The battle between Bheem and Duryodhan begins. The warriors appear equal in strength and skill, but Krishna informs Bheem that Duryodhan could be defeated if he smashes Duryodhan's thighs. Bheem leaps like a lion and breaks Duryodhan's thighs with his mace and defeats him. Duryodhan commands Ashwathama, the new Commander-in-Chief, to kill the Pandavas. Ashwathama, Kripacharya and Krit Verma arrive at the Pandava camp at midnight as Dhristadyumna and Draupadi's five sons are sleeping. They kill all the sleeping warriors and set fire to the camp. Believing that they have killed the Pandavas, they return to Duryodhan and discover that he is dead. They light Duryodhan's pyre, and go to sage Vyas's ashram. The Pandavas find Ashwatham with Sage Vyas and take their revenge.
The Kurukshetra has ended. The Pandavas visit Dhritarashtra who coldly embraces Yudhishtira. Dhritarashtra then moves forward to embrace Bheem, but Krishna tells Bheem to put an iron statue in his place. Dhritarashtra hugs the iron statue and crushes it to pieces. Dhritarashtra repents, but Krishna tells him "You have not killed Bheem, you have only crushed an iron statue". Dhritarashtra recomposes himself and blesses the Pandava princes. Krishna then leads Yudhistir to the throne. Yudhistir crowns Bheem the Yuvraj and appoints Vidur as the Prime Minister of Hastinapur. Arjun is made the commander of the army, Nakul is made Arjun's assistant and Sahadev is made the personal protector of the King. Krishna leads the Pandava brothers to Bhishma who gives them a discourse on Dharma and his soul leaves. |
