Dev goes to a hill resort, along with his friends, on a holiday. There he meets Gunja, a village belle. In due course, they fall in love with each other. Renuka, Dev's childhood friend and sweetheart, becomes jealous as she had dreamt of marrying him. In a fit of rage, Renuka teams up with Gunja's fiance, Jagga and decides to thwart the lovers' plan. Meanwhile, Gunja's elder brother, Manga informs the lovers. Dev and Gunja get married. On the wedding night, Jagga attempts to assault the newly married couple. Manga, however, intervenes and kills Jagga but gets killed in the fight that ensues. Dev informs his mother and decides to take Gunja to city. Before they could return to city, Gunja lands up in a brothel. She manages to escape from there and lands in a bungalow where she is raped and later thrown into a cemetry. Baba, a cremator, saves her and instigates her to take revenge.
