A police officer (Manoj Bajpai) and his friends fight a crusade when their women are harassed by a lecherous drunken cop (Mukesh Tiwari). The cop decides to avenge his humiliation. Meanwhile, Bajpai's name is struck off the merit list and all his aspirations of being a successful police officer are destroyed. Angry as ever, he later trashes the goons of a local don (Irfaan Khan) and now is saddled with not one but two bloodthirsty enemies.
Unfortunately, in a building crash, his newly wed sister and brother-in-law get killed and in his crusade against the powerful builders' Lobby, he soon discovers the strong nexus between the underworld, police and unscrupulous builders. He has the support of a righteous cop, Om Puri but there is nothing much he can do. His lover (Tabu) an advocate, realizes that the judiciary is incapable of meting out justice and that is when she urges Manoj to revolt against the system. He picks up arms and turns against those who had harmed him; one by one, he destroys them all. |
