| A year has passed since Ben Holiday bought the Kingship of Landover from the Wizard Meeks, who set a series of pitfalls for him. Ben survived with the help of Questor Thews, an ill-trained wizard; Abernathy, talking dog and Scribe; and Willow, fairy and sometimes tree. Troubled by disturbing dreams about his old partner, Ben returns to Earth only to find Miles Bennett is fine. Meeks used the dreams to again trick Ben, and return to Landover. Meeks springs his trap the first night back, stealing Ben's medallion and key to the throne. Outcast, unrecognized, seemingly powerless, Ben meets the Prism Cat who holds a secret Truth. Now, Willow is missing, seeking the legendary Black Unicorn. Ben must find both the truth, and the magic of the elusive Black Unicorn to regain the throne |
