This boxed set features the special magic of two of Louis L’Amour’s original short novels, both read by narrator Jim Gough.

“Ross Hardy had made his decision. He sat in the middle of all he owned, a splendid Appaloosa gelding, a fine California saddle, a .44 Winchester rifle, and two walnut-stocked Colt .44 pistols. These were his all. It was a life that had left him rich in experience of cold winters, dry ranges, and the dusty bitterness of cattle drives. He had fought Comanches and rustlers, hunted buffalo and horse thieves. Now he was going to ride for himself, to fight for himself.”—from Rider of the Ruby Hills

In Showdown Trail Rock Bannon, wounded in an Indian attack, is rescued by a wagon train heading to Oregon. Morton Harper, a smooth-talking man, persuades them to take an easier trail to avoid Indian attack, but Bannon knows there will be no escape.

Showdown Trail first appeared in Giant Western magazine in 1948. L’Amour expanded the story into The Tall Stranger in 1957, and it was filmed as The Tall Stranger, starring Joel McCrea and Virginia Mayo.

THIS SET IS AVAILABLE IN VALUE PACKAGING ONLY

“L’Amour is the kind of storyteller who makes the wolves come out of the woods to listen.”—People
